OFFSET @ Deptford X Fringe Festival 2018

I would like to invite you to my newest short film OFFSET screening @ Deptford X Fringe Festival 2018

OFFSET
There is no guidebook on how to survive the agonising hurricane of pain when you find your most intimate self betrayed. Trapped between walls of pain, you try to fight your way out.
How much of the pain do you need in order to survive, what time do you get to test the truth of your expectations and how much do you let yourself be told of what is right? In fight for breath, love balances us sharply on hopes blade.

Concept | director | cinematographer – Anne Verheij

Iwa Pele @ Deptford X Fringe Festival 2018

I would like to invite you to my newest collaboration presented @ Deptford X Fringe Festival 2018:

Iwa Pele – a visual dance research collaboration by Kathrin Gramelsberger with Maarten Krielen and Anne Verheij

Iwa Pele is a concept from the Nigerian Yoruba religion and means balanced character. In Iwa Pele three artists go in search of this balance.
Nigerian-German initiator and choreographer Kathrin Gramelsberger explores her mixed heritage.
Inspired by Orisha – deities of the Yoruba people, this visual dance performance combines video art, Nigerian celebration dances and contemporary dance in a distorted way to discuss tradition and identity creating new points of view.

Een stukje Nu

Very exciting news:

Tomorrow we’ll have our first presentation of Een stukje Nu.

In the presentation of Een stukje Nu live music, dance, spoken word and film come together in a journey through time, guided by the personal stories of residents from nursing home Het Schouw.

Back in the day everything used to be better and we are forgetting the present.
In the encounter we remember who we are.

OF(f) COURSE – ANNE• & Kathrin Gramelsberger

OF(f) COURSE is a new research project in collaboration with Kathrin Gramelsberger. It stems from my graduation piece ‘On An Empty Stomach’, for which I received distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London.

Spread through multiple locations in London Kathrin and I went looking for movement and rhythm. I examined various ways in which I can compose my digital canvas to achieve a digital collage painting. My central focus point is rhythm, which I research through elements of light, lines, textures, repetition and movement. Kathrin has gone in search of the movement and rhythm in the location and how they affect her own movements.

Follow the research that extends between London and Amsterdam right here.
