What a special time this past year has been. With all our collective efforts from donors, sponsors, family, old and new friends, we’ve created a state of flow in which knowledge and love has found its feet, and stories and experiences of young and old are being shared.
We endured much in the last month of the year, both personally and collectively, regarding health and the finiteness of life. The fact that we were able to continue to connect with each other amidst the chaos has a lot to do with building trust with both old acquaintances and new contacts. This project has helped us grow even more in continuing to learn and communicate about things we don’t yet know and themes that seem too big to fathom. Courage and love are important partners in uncertain times, and we want to thank you for your support and trust in this project.

To conclude WZDT on a festive note, we will have dance and song performances on Saturday, January 17th, from 3-4 PM, featuring impromptus moments of the intergenerational conversation between mother and grown child, Kathrin and Mandisa Gramelsberg. They will take us through the exhibition space, where they will respond to and make use of our installations, whilst using their voice and movement.
We hope to see you at the exhibition in these final two weeks.
Sincerely, Alida, Winfried, Anne, Jeffrey

The energy in the studio has been ramped up! An update of the production phase we’re currently in:
Anne and Jeffrey took over the AVWS studio for a week to build the base structures of their artworks with Alida and Winfried. Under Winfried’s expert guidance, the plans have now been developed into tangible physical forms. The atmosphere is fantastic. It’s a process of sharing, helping, and creating together, in which we receive fantastic construction force from friends and even some of you, our supporters. Your support is literally being transformed into the foundations of the exhibition.
We are happy to announce that Alida’s installation “Spiegel van de Ziel” has received support from the NVVE Fund. “The NVVE is committed to freedom of choice regarding the end of life. The association is there for everyone with questions, doubts, or fears about the end of life.” This vision of autonomy and personal responsibility in the most fundamental cycle of life aligns well with the core of Alida’s elemental artwork.
Finally: Next month, construction begins in the NDSM-fuse! Theater designer Steffie van Lamoen will join our construction team with her years of experience in set- and installation building. We’ll also be joined by set- and event builder and filmmaker Safier Elzinga.
Sincerely, Alida, Winfried, Anne, and Jeffrey

On scale ✏️ September 2025
We are in full swing with the production of We Are The Times!
A first update on what we are currently working on: Anne was recently in Amsterdam for the building planning of the exhibition. She created a model to get an idea of the scale of the NDSM-fuse space with the different artworks in it, while Winfried marked out a full-scale floor plan at the studio with Alida’s installation dimensions (a 10m diameter circle). Alida and Anne have packed the first parts of Mirror of the Soul artwork to make room in the studio for the production of Jeffrey and Anne’s designs. Meanwhile, we are all working on the logistics and transportation of the artworks. But most importantly: we are collectively working hard on our individual pieces! The first meters of fabric for the enclosure of Alida’s installation have been ordered!
It’s wonderful to see the exhibition starting to take spatial shape, and we look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months. The official marketing materials, in collaboration with NDSM-Fuse, are coming soon!
Sincerely, Alida, Winfried, Anne, and Jeffrey

Crowdfunding picnic London 🧺 July 2025
An update from London! This past Sunday, July 20th, we brought the spirit of ‘We Are The Times’ to Greenwich Park in London with a cozy drawing and painting picnic. It was an intimate gathering with a small group of friends and acquaintances, full of creativity and good conversations about the project. It was wonderful to feel the connection that our project is all about, right here on a local level.
You can also find that same spirit of dialogue in our Instagram Reel. In this video, we share a fragment of a conversation we had about Anne’s previous collaboration with Alida and Winfried and braving uncomfortable communication with your circle and yourself. You can watch it here: www.instagram.com/p/DMQv8UQsruq
And speaking of connection: we want to thank the donors for all their heart-warming messages they’ve left on the crowdfunding page. They mean so much to us and give us a lot of energy. Thank you!
Love from Amsterdam 🌷 July 2025

An update from Amsterdam! All four of us are currently in the city, and the energy is fantastic. We visited the impressive space at NDSM-fuse and are working together in the studio to further shape the plans for “Wij Zijn De Tijden”. It’s a special time where our two generations and four visions are literally coming together.
The support and belief in this project creates a momentum that opens doors. It convinces major funds—like het Cultuurfonds and Leve het Geven —to join our mission.
With regards from Amsterdam, Alida, Winfried, Anne, and Jeffrey
Halfway point crowdfunding 💌 July 2025
Sketch Mirror of the Soul
Fantastic news: we have reached the 50% mark of our goal! Thanks to the support of all the crowdfunding supporters, half of our target amount has been raised. This is an incredible milestone for which we are ever so grateful.
A project like “Wij Zijn De Tijden” starts with a plan (as you can see in our sketch). But thanks to their support, this idea is growing, just like a tree finding its roots and reaching for the light. Every donation helps us fill this empty space and turn plans into a tangible experience.
This growth extends beyond just the finances. It’s about the community we are building together. This projects core: the responsibility we share for the world we leave behind.
With regards, Alida, Winfried, Anne, and Jeffrey

Behind the scenes 🎨 July 2025
We’ve got our 25% crowdfunding milestone!
Behind the scenes, we are working hard. Alida and Winfried are fully engaged in their studios, while Anne and Jeffrey in London are finalizing the concepts for their installations. At the same time, we are putting the finishing touches on the plans for building the exhibition. The crowdfunding contributions are already being turned into concrete action!

This whole process is an intense dialogue between the four of us. The conversations we have about art, life, and society are the engine behind ‘Wij Zijn De Tijden’. We’d like to share a fragment of one such conversation with you.
In the video below, you’ll hear Jeffrey sharing his impressions of Winfried’s sculpture series, ‘Het gelaat van de macht’ (The Face of Power). It’s a reflection that came about while we were making our crowdfunding video and it touches the core of our project: how art can change our perception of power and remind us of our own, everyday impact.
We’ve made it! Thanks to the incredible support of 67 backers, we’ve reached our crowdfunding goal! We’re so thrilled with the support we’ve received; you truly made this project possible!
Now we can move on to the next steps! The production phase from all four of us, where we’ll develop our designs on paper to tangible materials, which will then be developed into sculptures and installations. We’ll keep you updated on our progress via social media @avws.artworks@annepoint@jeffreychoy.art and updates via voordekunst website.
Your support has set the project in motion, and the enthusiasm of your responses has given us the energy to persevere. This campaign beautifully reflects the core of our project: a call to connection and action. Inspired by the words, “…be a beacon of courage and hope,” we believe that art has the power to connect us and open hearts. We look forward to keep building on this together.
We’re excited to welcome you to the exhibition opening in November 2025, together in our time.
With a full heart and good cheer, Alida, Winfried, Anne and Jeffrey

Feeling the urgency of our times? ⏳ This is “Wij Zijn De Tijden (We Are The Times),” our intergenerational art project about hope, connection and action. Alida, Winfried, Anne & Jeffrey, are bringing our voices together. But to make this unique exhibition a reality, we need YOUR support.

Inspired by the words of Augustine (3rd-4th century) “Don’t complain about the emperor or the times… But say: we are the times. Be a beacon of courage and hope yourself,” we believe that art has the power to reach each other and open hearts. This project is born from a deep desire to create a space where everyone feels empowered to be authentic, and where we can grow together in connection. How can we, together, build such a world?
Through works such as Alida’s “Mirror of the Soul,” Winfried’s “The Face of Power,” Anne’s “Free Fall,” and Jeffrey’s “The Garden of Transience,” we invite you to investigate and, above all, feel the complexity of life – from power and the environment to consumerism and personal responsibility. We want to bring about a primary awareness, art that directly touches life.
The artists gathered by Hidden Keileon will go through a month of creative period in response to the theme of Apocalyptic Yesterday: geopolitical conflicts, global resources flow, mycelial inspired organising and working in a world where future is hard to imagine.
Last November 2024 Miku Tsuchiya and I were able to reconnect through making site specific art together.
We were able to listen to each other by listening to ourselves, creating space for ourselves and thereby for the other, finding ways to communicate our thoughts, feelings and fears, creating trust, a chance to be.

The fourth edition of Te Kijk Gezet is now on display @ Koningsstraat 6, Amsterdam. A collaboration between @AVWS-artwork and myself.
Tegen de Zwaartekracht [Defying Gravity] This 4th edition of Te Kijk Gezet is the latest result of the ongoing conversation about letting go, in which the artists research their family bond and age difference. Defying Gravity is a spatial design by Anne in which she provides a third of the space for each artist to use. Visual layers are created by horizontal planes that both take and create space. An exciting relation between the works reveals itself by putting them in this framed context. The three artworks play with the recognition and denial of material, composition and expectations.
I would like to invite you to the second exhibition of Te Kijk Gezet till the end of May.
6 Koningsstraat, 1011 EV, Amsterdam. Completely CORONA-PROOF, 24/7 and free.
This year I work together with my parents, Winfried Scholz and Alida Verheij, to create changing exhibitions in the Nieuwmarkt neighborhood of Amsterdam. The artworks aim to motivate a visual communication about the theme of letting go. We work with subject matter such as changing perceptions of identity, trauma’s and connections between generations.
You can follow our year long work process online via social media under #TeKijkGezet
The second edition artworks presented till the end of May are:
Alleen in het hoofd Eenzaam in het lijf Omgeven door somberheid Dat is het gevoel als van een depressie Alles is anders, voelt anders of voelt niets Maar…..
Langzaam laat de depressie los De cirkel gedachten verdwijnen Het lichaam wordt warm Langzaam komt vertrouwen Laat alles los wat zwart is
